Fire surveys are vital for identifying risks and ensuring your building’s fire safety measures are fully compliant, protecting lives and property when it matters most.
Passive fire surveys are essential assessments designed to identify and evaluate fire-resistant elements within your building, ensuring they are up to standard and fully capable of containing fire and smoke.

By examining fire barriers, doors, dampers, and structural protections, these surveys provide a comprehensive picture of your fire safety readiness. A passive fire survey gives you the confidence that every layer of fire protection is working as it should.

What is a Passive Fire Survey?

A Passive Fire Survey is a comprehensive assessment of the fire-resistant elements within a building, designed to ensure each component—like fire barriers, doors, and seals—is performing effectively to contain fire and smoke.

Unlike active fire systems, passive fire protection works silently, creating essential fire-safe compartments that help protect lives and minimise property damage in the event of a fire. This survey provides the insight needed to maintain compliance, strengthen fire safety, and offer peace of mind.

Why Do I Need a Site Survey?

A fire stopping survey will determine the areas within compartmentation walls that have been breached, this will help identify the correct remedial work required to ensure the Fire resisting walls can perform to restrict the spread of fire and smoke throughout your building.
Any services and penetrations on the compartment line should be fire-stopped using the approved products as per the manufacturer's specifications.

Midsummer Fire Protection can identify items that require remediation whether this be above suspended ceilings, within roof spaces, between floors and riser cupboards.

We can ensure that all issues will be found throughout the building and recorded on our photographic reports.

We have worked closely with Boris software to develop our very own templates for a compartmentation survey.

This enables us to capture every item found and provide a description within our photographic report.

All drawings provided can be pinned to show exactly where in the building the remediations are.
